At this meeting held on the 21st of April, Robert shared some tips and advice on cleaning Apple products. Members also discussed a number of topics including AI image generation.
AI Image Generation
Ann-Kay mentioned the photomedia artist Boris Eldagsen who refused his prize in the Sony World Photography Awards after revealing the work was created using AI.
The lead to a discussion about AI image generation. DaveK pointed out this article listing the 10 best AI Art Generators of 2023 which he mentioned at a previous meeting.

App Development Update

Cleaning Tips
Robert talked about tips for cleaning Apple products including iPhones, iPads and Macs. Apple have a useful support article with detailed advice on cleaning their different products.
He also discussed reducing dust build-up in Macs, how to spot if you have a problem and steps to take. Make Use Of have an article on this topic.
Robert mentioned air blowers designed for blowing dust from electronics like the CompuCleaner from ITDusters.com.

- Sue mentioned problems making calls with a poor mobile signal and we suggested calling using FaceTime audio (or another Internet based telephone service) if WiFi is available.
- Denesh mentioned the local Wickford driveway bootsale.
- Denesh recommended a recent episode of the Full Disclosure podcast featuring the sociologist Jason Arday.
- Ben noted that that he couldn’t turn off conversation view in iCloud Mail on the web. There doesn’t seem to be a way to disable this, members suggested it might be worth sending feedback to Apple.
- Ben also mentioned that Apple supply individual AirPods and charging cases to replace lost or broken ones.
- DaveK mentioned that the All4 video streaming service will shortly be renamed “Channel 4”.
