This meeting was held on the 14th of October. Robert led a discussion about iCloud and managing your iCloud storage, members brought up a number of other topics and we talked about some recent news.
iCloud Storage Management
Robert talked about managing iCloud storage, how to check what is using your iCloud space and what Apple offers if you choose to purchase expanded storage.
Items that may be using iCloud storage include:
- Backups
- Photos and Videos
- Files in iCloud Drive
- Messages
Apple has a helpful support article on iCloud storage.
When looking at folders in iCloud Drive on a Mac Robert pointed out the useful “Calculate all sizes” setting in Finder View options. Enabling this shows the total size for each folder in the list view.
News
We discussed a couple of recent Apple news stories:
- Apple Music, TV and iCloud Photos coming to Windows (and Apple Music to Xbox).
- The Ask Apple service where developers can get help from Apple engineers.
